Needs translated into economic value
Neues Dorf understands all the needs of growing city pains and visualises the possibilities for creating new opportunities in rural areas in close cooperation with its partners. We know that agriculture has a special and important place in society and helps to sustain rural life and land and that these developments need to be done considering the importance of energy and water.
Our projects are aimed towards economic value for all concerned with the utmost respect for ecology, humans and health. Neues-Dorf GmbH is a development organisation for sustainable villages, industrial and city quarters conversion and modernisation, bringing green technologies, living forms, care facilities and work places together. Our concepts have been developed in cooperation with universities in Germany, The Netherlands, Romania and the US.
The utmost respect for ecology, humans and health
Cities are hubs for ideas, commerce, culture, science, productivity, social, human and economic development. Urban planning, transport systems, water, sanitation, waste management, disaster risk reduction, access to information, education and capacity-building are all relevant issues to sustainable urban development. Much more effort and innovation will be urgently needed in order to sustainably increase agricultural production, improve the global supply chain and decrease food losses and waste.
Electricity is an essential factor in the development for populations and a major lever for economic growth. Energy inequality therefore should be reduced in order to make it accessible and affordable for all. Nevertheless, in 2015 still about 2.8 billion people had no access to modern energy services and over 1.1 billion did not have electricity. Global demand for electricity is rising alarmingly and experts forecast that global electricity consumption will double in the next 30 years.
Access to safe water and sanitation and sound management of freshwater ecosystems are essential to human health and to environmental sustainability and economic prosperity. Transportation and mobility are central to sustainable development and emphasize the important role of municipal governments in setting a vision for sustainable cities.
Individual wellbeing for the elderly throughout their life is a right that involves promoting support in the home and providing the necessary assistance when needed. A home that is equipped with intelligent solutions from the beginning and geared towards growing needs of senior citizens will help them stay independent longer and reduce the feeling of being diminished.
